The property is a traditional country home in the historic centre of Barga, located on a private compound just under the hilltop Duomo (Cathedral). Its enormous terrace, entirely covered with a flourishing grape arbor, boasts one of the most glorious views in Tuscany – an unobstructed vista extending across the Serchio Valley to the Apuan Alps and their village-dotted slopes. The compound includes a large garden, planted with roses, pomegranates, apricots, olives and herbs.
Inside, the terrace level of the main house offers a spacious living area with Tuscan terra cotta floors, divided into a comfortably appointed living room, kitchen and dining room. A full bathroom is located off a foyer to the rear.
The second floor of the house offers three bedrooms, and a second bathroom. All of the rooms have wood parquet floors and uninterrupted views over the valley or the Duomo.
A separate 16th century Annex and 800-year-old Medieval convent with four-meter-high arched windows also stand in the compound.
Parking lots are found just outside the walls of Barga's historic centre. Direct bus service to Lucca, with easy connection to the international airports at Pisa and Florence, is available from a stop 400 meters from the house. Regular direct train service to Lucca and onward is also available from the by station of Barga-Gallicano (4km).
